I am currently doing research on e-books.

As an educational trend, e-books have been featured in both the Horizon report 2010 and 2011.

What keeps being confusing is the myriad of devices for production and display as well as standardization issues.

Here’s an interesting new application:

On January 19, 2012, Apple announced the availability of iBooks 2, an iOS app, and iBooks Author, a MacOS X application. These two free applications compliment one another. One creates interactive, rich media eTextbooks (iBooks Author) and the other enables those eTextbooks to be read on an iPad (iBooks 2). via Thinking About Tomorrow: iBooks Author and the Coming eTextbook Revolution in Higher Education.
