One thing that is continuously exciting for educational technology researchers about simple Web 2.0 tools such as weblogs is their ability to foster informal learning. Usually we focus on edublogging in the context of e.g., second language acquisition, writing skills or debating and academic discourse. Here is an example from visual design. Gareth Parry from Auckland, New Zealand has used a simple blogspot site as an e-portfolio to document his personal learning task of creating one infographic per week in the course of one year. A great example for a personal learning environment.
